Conference to announce the results of scientific research of students of Thuongmai University in 2017 - 2018 took place at Hall H3 on the morning of May 10, 2018.

The conference received a lot of attention with attendance of representatives of the Board of Directors, A/Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich Loan, the Vice Rector of the University; the lecturers who are the Heads (Vice heads) of the faculties and departments; representatives of the Youth Union, Student Affairs Department, Student Association as well as numerous lecturers and students.

Besides teaching and training activities, scientific research is one of the most important activities in the university. Yearly, on the basis of scientific and technological development orientations, scientific and technological tasks of all levels of the university; practical needs of the society, enterprices in the field of training of the university, Thuongmai University develops a plan of scientific research activities for students. The University's Student Scientific Research Conference for the 2017-2018 school year is organized with the following specific objectives:

- Improving the quality of training highly-qualified human resources, contributing to discover and foster talents for Vietnam;
- Promoting the dynamism, creativity, independent research ability of students, forming self-studying capacity for students;
- Contributing to create new knowledge and products for society;
- Supporting students with opportunities of team working, studying and exchanging knowledge.

In 2016-2017 school year, Thuongmai University had 03 projects to attend the Ministry-level scientific research award and won 1 third prize and 1 consolation prize. This further encourages the scientific research spirit of students as well as supervisors.

In the 2017-2018 school year, 290 scientific research projects of students were completed, from which faculties had selected 29 projects for school level competition. After the independent evaluation process of the Evaluation Council, one project won the first prize, there were two second prizes, three third prizes and 23 consolation prizes. After the conference, from 29 outstanding projects, the Council processed the selection of 03 best projects to participate in the "Scientific Research Student Award" organized by the Ministry of Education and Training.
Conference presented 06 reports of groups of students who won the first, second, third prize of school level competition with the following topics:
- "Impact Factors on Income Diversification of Rural Vietnamese Households" by students Nguyen Thu Ha (K51H5) and Hoang Thi Lan Anh (K51H4) with the guidance of Dr. Pham Tuan Anh;
- "Developing Culinary Tourism in Hanoi" by students Nguyen Thi Hang Loan and Le Thi Ha (K51B4KS) with the guidance of MA. Hoang Thi Thu Trang;
- "Research on Factors Affecting Communication Behaviors on Social Networks of Students from Thuongmai University" by students Ninh Thi Dung (K51I1), Dang Thi Hoang Anh (K51I2), Vu Minh Duc (K51I1) conducted with the guidance of Ms. Vu Thi Thuy Hang;
- "Research on Penetration Strategy into Russian market of TH True Milk dairy company" by students Pham Thi Hoai (K52E3), Phan Thi Huong (K52E4) and Le Thi Thuy Duong (K52E3) with the guidance of MA. Mai Thanh Huyen;

- "Promoting Vietnam's Tea Export to EU Market in the Context of Vietnam-EU free Trade Agreement" by students Pham Huong Lan (K51F2), Bui Thi Phuong Anh (K51F2) and Dang Thi Hanh ( K51F4) carried out with the guidance of MA. Lê Như Quỳnh;
- "Research on Implementing Social Responsibility for Students of Public Universities in the Economic Sector in Hanoi when Conducting Autonomy and Self-Responsibility Mechanism" by studenta Hoang Tran Hieu (K51U1), Ta Thanh Tung (K51U2) and Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan (K51U2) with the guidance of MA. Ngo Thi Mai.

The Student Scientific Research Conference in the year of 2017-2018 was a great success, with a lot of good projects. That shows great interest and serious work of research student groups and supervisors. Some research topics have high practical applications, and they can be applied primarily in the real life.
