Preliminary Survey Program for the External Assessment of Six Master’s Degree Programs at Thuongmai University
Throughout its development journey, Thuongmai University has consistently identified quality assurance as a key mission — a solid foundation for enhancing its reputation, training capacity, and community service effectiveness. This commitment clearly reflects the University’s dedication to continuous improvement and educational excellence.
In 2025, the University conducted self-assessment activities for six master’s degree programs in preparation for the preliminary survey by the external evaluation team from the Center for Education Accreditation – Vietnam National University, Hanoi (CEA–VNU).
The preliminary survey program was divided into two sessions: the first held online and the second conducted in person. Representing the CEA–VNU were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien, Director of the Center and member of the external assessment team. The External Assessment Team included Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Duc – Head of the team; Dr. Tran Huu Luong – Secretary; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Thanh – Member; and M.A. Trinh Thi Nhung – Supervisor.
On behalf of Thuongmai University, the delegation welcomed the assessment team, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ha Van Su, Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy, Director of the Institute of Graduate Training; Dr. Tran Thi Hoang Ha, Director of the Institute of Business Administration; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Thu Hoai, Dean of the Faculty of Marketing; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duc Hieu, Director of the Institute of Accounting and Auditing; Dr. Duong Hoang Anh, Dean of the Faculty of Economics; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Minh Hanh, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Banking; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Trang, Dean of the Faculty of Human Resource Management; Dr. Vu Van Hung, Head of the Office of Testing and Educational Quality Assurance; along with heads of other offices, centers, self-assessment councils, specialized working groups, and secretariats of the assessed programs.
Before the main working session, the assessment team reviewed the University’s preparation for the upcoming official survey, including the self-assessment reports and lists of supporting evidence for the six master’s programs.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Duc presented a preliminary summary of the self-assessment reports, outlined the plan for the official survey, and provided a list of requirements for the University to prepare ahead of the official assessment.
The external assessment team and the University discussed and agreed upon the working principles, official survey schedule, additional documentation and evidence, and the composition and format of interviews with relevant stakeholders.
In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ha Van Su, Vice Rector of Thuongmai University, expressed his sincere gratitude for the valuable feedback from the assessment team and affirmed that the University would promptly address and complete all documents as requested.
The preliminary survey concluded with the signing of the Preliminary Survey Minutes between the external assessment team and the University.
